New Orleans 3.0: Sunday Morning Journal’s 98.5FM Looks At Talent Under 40
For any weekend early birds I’d highly recommend checking out two radio shows: Real Talk & Sunday Morning Journal. I knew about Real Talk already because I would check it out sometimes on Saturday morning. But I found out about Sunday Morning Journal through Eddie Francis, PR Guru, comedian (literally), and all around cool dude (and no I’m not just saying that because we both went to St. Aug & SUNO….okay well maybe I am). But as we say, “He’s really good peoples”. Eddie asked me to come on Sunday Morning Journal for a new segment he’s producing called: New Orleans 3.0.
He told me that he wants to talk to the fresh blood in New Orleans (people under 40) that are making things happen in the city. No disrespect to the more seasoned and mature people making a name for themselves but they always seem to get the spotlight. I know ALOT of young people in the city that really love New Orleans, love what they do, and are propelling this city to a new level. For my 3 minutes of radio fame, I talked about what I know best: technology.
I gave him the back story about how I got into it, talked about why African-Americans should get their children more involved in tech, and how the city stacked up against others in regards to technology. You can listen to the audio of the segment or download it. I was a little nervous toward the beginning but eventually calmed down enough to spit out some worthwhile answers.
So thanks again Eddie for the opportunity! If you are doing some good things in New Orleans or if you know somebody that is, then talk to Eddie to get them spotlighted.
